About Us

The Metro Southeast Houston Chapter of National Women of Achievement, Incorporated was organized on March 30, 1985, in the home of our National Founder, Dr. Maudest Walls Stewart in Houston, TX. Six Charter members were present: Vivian Priestly, Evelyn Roberts (the first Chapter President), Florence Roberts (the Chapter Organizer), Juanita Walls, Cherry Worsham, and Dorothy Worsham.

Throughout its existence, the members of Metro Southeast Houston Chapter have dedicated themselves to consistent community service, promoting political awareness, and providing scholarships to deserving high school students from all walks of life. The Chapter’s annual projects include Literacy Outreach, “Feed a Neighbor” at Thanksgiving Project, Christmas Cheer for Senior Citizens, Gift Baskets and Blankets for Nursing Homes, and Honoring Outstanding Educators and Community Leaders at our Golden Apple Awards Luncheon and, more recently, our Christmas Scholarship Gala.

As time marches forward, we will continue to increase and add more projects that will enhance our community service. Metro Southeast Houston Chapter believes in the importance of education for our children and looks forward to increasing its membership. If this appeals to you, join us. We would love to have you as a new member!
